All Licensed Massage Therapists must renew their massage therapy license every two years from the date of issuance on the original license.
In order to renew, you need the following:
At least 12 hours of TDLR-approved or recognized Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
A completed application (you may also renew online)
$75 renewal fee
In order to meet the 12 hours of continuing education, you must find a licensed massage therapy school. Avalon is accredited and licensed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR). MS1069.
There are currently no specific requirements for CEUs which is great when choosing your curriculum. Here at Avalon, we offer Clinical Therapies and Holistic Therapies with a total of 28 course options, all accepted and recognized by TDLR. See our list of courses here. If you are under a time constraint to get the required credits to renew, please let us know so that we can provide a special small-group class, resources permitting.
When taking your CEUs, you must maintain a record of the courses you take in case you are selected for a random audit by TDLR. Certificates, diplomas, or other documentation are acceptable for verification. When you attend Avalon for your CEUs, we keep track of your attendance in your file should you ever need proof of course completion.
If your license has been expired for 90 days or more, please visit the TDLR website for more information.
